Step 1. Create an account
Create an UP42 account to be able to access the following platforms:
UP42 offers two account plans: Discovery and Professional. Both account plans are designed to be flexible: start for free and only pay for what you order. The only distinction is the extent of company information you provide to us for compliance reasons.
To get full access to UP42 offerings, upgrade to Professional.
Individuals can’t register on the platform. You can only register on behalf of an organization.
Professional plan accounts can request 10,000 free credits.
Step 2. Set up your account
Invite other users to your UP42 account. This way, you’ll be able to collaborate with your team by sharing data, algorithms, and results from your workspaces. You can add new users either as members or admins.
Step 3. Get access

Select a tasking collection, a catalog collection, or a process.
Check the data products supported for this collection and available band combinations.

You’ll be able to access specific collections only after you’ve filled out the questionnaire and the provider has approved your request. Your request may be rejected if your organization or use case didn’t meet the provider criteria.

End-user license agreements (EULAs) are legal contracts between a provider and a product user. It specifies in detail the rights and restrictions that apply to the product.
Many offerings don’t require you to request access to them and are available by default:
- Tasking: You don’t need to request access to Beijing-3A and Beijing-3N.
- Catalog: You don’t need to request access to most catalog collections.
- Processing: You don’t need to request access to processes.
Step 4. Order test data
Finally, you can create test orders or jobs using the 10,000 free credits you requested:

Order tasking data
Request a satellite or an aircraft to capture your designated area with certain criteria, such as processing levels and data specifications.

Order catalog data
Catalog data is archive geospatial data that has been captured in the past.

Run a process
Apply advanced processing to purchased geospatial data.
To test the tasking processing pipeline, create a test tasking order. You won’t need free credits to submit tasking order requests. Payment is only required if you accept the quotation.
Use the free 10,000 credits that you requested to order catalog data. For example, it will be enough to buy one of the following:
- Pléiades catalog data of an area of up to 10 km2 with a spatial resolution of 50 cm
- SPOT catalog data of an area of up to 25 km2 with a spatial resolution of 1.50 m
There are also free catalog collections: Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8.
Many processes are compatible with Display products from Pléiades and SPOT collections.
If you order catalog data from one of those collections, you can spend the rest of the 10,000 credits that you requested to run a test processing algorithm — for example, Building detection or Shadow detection.
Step 5. Start purchasing
Purchase credits to buy data or run algorithms.
100 credits are equivalent to €1. The minimum purchase is 10,000 credits (€100). If you purchase 1,000,000 or more credits at a time, we provide 5% bonus credits free of charge.
When you purchase credits for the first time, we’ll perform a compliance check. We’ll verify your identity to avoid any potential risk and to abide by the terms and conditions UP42 partners have for their data and algorithms. For more information, see Terms and conditions.
