Sensors with tasking capacity can experience a lot of demand which can lead to competition for slots, especially during the high-demand tasking season from June to August. Some collections offer the opportunity to specify a tasking priority tier when you create an order.
Weather conditions, especially cloud coverage, can still impact optical sensor acquisitions, regardless of the priority tier. For more reliable results, use longer acquisition time frames or weather-independent data sources, such as SAR sensors.
The standard tier is offered by default in all collections.
Select this tier if any of the following applies to your case:
- You are creating an order several weeks ahead of the tasking acquisition start date.
- The acquisition time frames for your order are flexible.
This priority tier provides priority over standard tasking requests. The corresponding higher pricing model and the price increase depend on the selected collection. Not all collections provide this tier.
Select this tier if any of the following applies to your case:
- You are creating an order a week or less ahead of the tasking acquisition start date.
- Your area of interest overlaps with areas of economic or industrial interest, such as ports or densely populated urban areas.
This tier is prioritized, but weather can still affect optical sensors.
This priority tier provides the highest possible priority over other tasking requests. The corresponding higher pricing model and the price increase depend on the selected collection. Not all collections provide this tier.
Select this tier if any of the following applies to your case:
- The tasking acquisition for your order needs to start immediately.
- Your area of interest overlaps with areas affected by critically time-sensitive events, such as natural disasters or humanitarian crises.
This tier is prioritized, but weather can still affect optical sensors.
