Create AOIs and POIs for catalog and tasking orders on the console.


Overview

The process for creating a geometry is different depending on whether it is a tasking or a catalog order.

Tasking orders

Open the console, go to Tasking inline-icon Tasking, and click New tasking order. Add a geometry in one of the following ways:

  • Draw a polygon. On the top right, click Draw polygon in Tasking inline-icon and start drawing.
  • Draw a point. To add a POI, use this option. On the top right, click Marker inline-icon and mark a location.
  • Upload a file. To add multipart or single AOIs or POIs, use this option. In the search bar, click Upload inline-icon and upload your file.

Catalog orders

Add an AOI

Open the console and go to Catalog inline-icon Catalog. Add a single AOI in one of the following ways:

  • Search for a location. In the search bar, start typing a name of a place and select a prompt from a drop-down list.
  • Draw a polygon. On the top right, click Draw polygon in Catalog inline-icon and start drawing.
  • Upload a file. On the top right, click Upload inline-icon and upload your file.
  • Reuse from the library. On the top right, click Library inline-icon, choose one of the previously saved geometries, and click Load geometry.

Save an AOI

If you want to save a single AOI to reuse for future catalog orders, add it to your Geometries library.

  1. Add a single AOI.
  2. On the right, click Save inline-icon.
  3. Enter a unique name for the AOI and click Save geometry.

If you want to view your saved geometries, on the top right click Library inline-icon.

Edit a saved AOI

If you have saved AOIs in your Geometries library, you can edit their coverage.

  1. On the top right, click Library inline-icon, choose one of the previously saved geometries, and click Load geometry.
  2. Click Edit inline-icon and edit the geometry in the console.
  3. Click Finish editing.
  4. Click Save inline-icon and choose Update or Save as new.

Troubleshooting

Can I delete or rename a saved geometry?

No, you can't delete or rename a previously saved geometry in your Geometries library.
