Create catalog orders

Create orders for existing geospatial data.

Overview

Catalog data is archive geospatial data that has been captured in the past.

Step 1. Get access

If you are ordering a certain catalog collection for the first time, complete the access steps.

  1. Select a collection

Review the specifications of catalog collections and select a collection for ordering.

  2. Request access

If you want to order the chosen collection for the first time, request access to the collection. Your request will be reviewed in up to 3 working days. You’ll get an email once a decision has been reached. You can review your access request status on the Access requests page.

After you have access, you won’t need to request access again.

  3. Accept the EULA

If you want to order the chosen collection for the first time, review and accept its end-user license agreement (EULA). If a EULA is updated, you need to re-accept it before creating your next order.

  1. Define a geometry

    1. Check limitations for catalog collections and the types of geometry the selected collections accept as input.
    2. Check that your geometry is valid for a catalog order.
    3. Open the console and go to Catalog inline-icon Catalog.
    4. Add your geometry.
  2. Configure search filters

Click Filters to specify the following search parameters:

    • Collections: the geospatial collections to be included in the search
    • Resolution: the resolution range of the collections to be included in the search
    • Acquisition date: an acquisition date range
    • Maximum cloud coverage: the maximum percentage of clouds covering a scene, from 0 to 100
  3. Preview scenes

Click Expand inline-icon to view scenes that intersect your geometry. To view more scenes from a collection, click See all images.

Preview scenes in one of the following ways:

    • Geometry

To check how scene geometries in a collection intersect your geometry, click Preview geometry inline-icon.

    • Quicklook

To see a quicklook, open the scene by clicking on it. Not all collections have quicklooks. Some quicklooks may not fully match the scene they represent.

  1. Select scenes and data products

    1. Select scenes using the checkboxes. Note asset delivery time. Add scenes from one collection to the cart before selecting from another collection.
    2. Click Add [the amount of] scenes to cart.
    3. From the cart, select data products for your scenes. If you pick multiple products per scene, you’ll be charged for each one.

Step 3. Create an order

Credits will be deducted upon successful completion of the created catalog order. The transaction can’t be reversed.

  1. To view or remove selected scenes, click View cart.
  2. In the cart, specify Order name and Order tags. The tags are added to the order, delivered order assets, and the transaction history.
  3. Check the selected scenes and data products. You can change the selected data products or remove scenes from the cart.
  4. Check the following:
    • Available balance
    • Order total
    • Final balance
  5. Check that you’ve agreed to the EULA conditions.
  6. Click Create order. You will be asked to purchase credits if there isn’t a sufficient credit balance.

Step 4. Monitor orders

Monitor the status and the readiness of your order.

Step 5. Download assets

The following statuses mean you can download assets from storage:

  • In progress: some order assets might have been delivered.
  • Completed: all order assets have been delivered.

Download delivered assets.
