Very high resolution SAR imagery acquired globally on a sub-daily basis.


Introduction

Capella Space imagery is acquired by seven very high and high resolution radar satellites on an intraday basis anywhere on the globe. The datasets are available starting with 2020. The collection provides single-look products (SLC and SICD) and multi-look products (GEC and GEO).

The geographic coverage is global. There are regional restrictions that limit the coverage of the catalog collection.

Location of interest type

This collection accepts AOIs. You will get full scenes intersecting the defined AOI.

Data product specifications

All three acquisiton modes can provide SLC, GEC, and GEO products.

SLC, GEC, and GEO products are delivered as a three-file bundle consisting of the following:

  • Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF
  • STAC JSON metadata
  • Extended JSON metadata

The Spotlight (Spot) and Stripmap (Strip) acqusition modes can also deliver single look complex data in a Sensor Independent Complex Data (SICD) format. This will be a NITF file which contains both the SAR imagery and its metadata.

Geocoded Ellipsoid Corrected (GEC)
  • Only amplitude information.
  • Range-compressed, detected, focused, multi-looked imagery with enhanced radiometric resolution.
  • Resampled and projected onto WGS84 ellipsoid with average scene center height.
  • UTM and UPS projections.
Geocoded Terrain Corrected (GEO)
  • Only amplitude information.
  • Range-compressed, detected, focused, multi-looked imagery with enhanced radiometric resolution.
  • Terrain-height corrected using high resolution Digital Elevation Model (DEM).
  • UTM and UPS projections.
Sensor Independent Complex Data (SICD)
  • Both amplitude and phase of SAR signal.
  • Range-compressed, focused imagery in slant-range geometry.
