Place an order

Place tasking orders through the console.


Overview

You can place a tasking order for a given AOI using the following steps:

  1. Request tasking access.
  2. Create an order.
  3. Review feasibility.
  4. Activate an order.

You can also place an order using the API.

If you need support placing more complex tasking orders with multiple AOIs, contact our sales team.

Request tasking access

If you are using a tasking collection for the first time, you need to request access to it.

To gain access to a collection, follow these steps:

  1. Select a tasking collection.
  2. Go to Tasking  icon Tasking and click New tasking order.
  3. Click the collection that you want to access.
  4. Click Request Access to [collection name].
  5. Fill out the form and press Submit.
  6. Wait for an email from the customer support team notifying you when a decision is made. This can take up to 3 working days.

Create an order

To create an order after gaining access, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Tasking icon Tasking and click New tasking order.
  2. Select the sensor you want to task along with your desired data product.
  3. Create an AOI in one of the following ways:
    • Upload it. Click Upload icon in the Search location bar to upload your AOI.
    • Draw it. Click Draw polygon icon on the top right to draw your AOI.
  4. Set up order parameters and click Next. You will not be charged at this step.
  5. If you need to change details before submitting the request, click Edit Order.
  6. Click Submit Request and our operations team will begin to prepare a feasibility study for your order.

Review feasibility

  1. You will receive a PDF of the feasibility study over email. It will indicate if:
    • The order is possible with the given parameters.
    • The order requires modifications with suitable options proposed.
    • The order isn't possible.
  2. Accept or reject the order proposal over email. You cannot further modify your order after this stage.

Activate an order

Once a feasibility study has been accepted, a price quote will be generated for your order. After accepting this price, your order will be activated.

  1. Go to Tasking icon TaskingMy orders and select your order.
  2. See your quoted order price under Price.
  3. Accept or reject this price.
  4. If you accept, the amount will be deducted from your credit balance and tasking operations will commence.
