Storage allows you to have your own storage space where you can monitor the status of each order and download assets. An asset is a unique item associated to a successful order or a fresh image captured through sensor tasking and it contains the downloadable geospatial dataset. The assets that get delivered in storage originate from data platform ordering (API and catalog interface), job runs and tasking operations.
This guide assumes that you already ordered readily available geospatial datasets. For more information, please refer to Data platform: Getting started.
Storage has the following advantages:
- It provides immediate access to fresh datasets acquired through tasking operations
- It centralizes all the datasets downloaded via job runs or data platform orders
- It allows you to re-use the previously downloaded datasets into workflows and perform further analytics
The assets are only delivered as ZIP archives.
The assets delivered to storage must originate from the specific data providers or from tasking operations.
After you ordered readily available geospatial datasets, go to the tab Orders. Click on the Catalog tab on the left and view the order status (In Progress/Completed).
The ordering dashboard displays the details below.
Once the orders are completed, the data is available for download. To access the data, go to the Data tab and download the assets. An asset is a unique item associated to a successful order and it contains the downloadable geospatial dataset.
Each asset contains the following information:
|Collection||Satellite sensor (SPOT or PHR)|
|Acquisition||Image acquisition date|
|Type||The origin of the image: archived or tasking|
|Created||Date when the image was delivered|
|Actions||A download button for each image|
|Image information||Basic image metadata|
In order to re-use assets in workflows for future processing, you need to paste the Asset Identifier. For more information, please refer to Process datasets from storage.
- In order to view the image footprint of the asset, go to any file displayed on the dashboard, click on the 3 dots and then click Preview.
- The image footprint will be displayed on the basemap.
The Preview button is only displayed for assets that contain geometry information in the metadata.
Congratulations! You can now take advantage of the monitoring and download capabilities of storage.
